Raw Unheated Honey
Raw unheated honey is my preferred facial cleanser that I’ve been using for the last ten years. It’s extremely gentle, full of potent enzymes and is antibacterial as well as containing nutraceuticals that limit free-radical damage that accelerate aging. Because it’s antibacterial its great for acne, in fact I just dabe a bit of honey on a blemish in rare occurrence that I have acne.
Jojoba oil is actually a liquid plant wax, although it’s called an oil by most because of its consistency. This particular oil is extremelysimilar to the natural oil that our skin produces called sebum. It’s extremely light and easily absorbs into skin. It’s a great intro oil if you’re new to using facial oils or suffer from oily skin. In fact, jojoba oil is known to be great at preventing acne because it actually helps cut down on the production of sebum.
Because it’s actually a wax, it seals moisture into the skin and because of this it’s been known to help with eczema and psoriasis, creating a protective layer over the skin.
We’ll be using it in the eye-makeup remover and scrub because of its light consistency. If you have extremely oily skin it’s recommended to start out with jojoba oil to control sebum production.
Argan oil has become my favorite facial moisturizer because it’s light and absorbs easily into my skin while still being extremely moisturizing. I love that it keeps my skin feeling supple.
It’s rich in Vitamin E and Vitamin A, omega fatty acids, antioxidants and linoleic acid, which helps to reduce inflammation making it an ideal oil to use for anti-aging.
I like to use Aloe vera to open pores before applying argan oil or in conjunction with argan oil. Aloe vera contains antioxidants, vitamins and beta carotene and is known for keeping skin hydrated, it’s also very soothing and healing to damaged skin.
Activated Charcoal is one of my favorite ingredients to use in a facial mask and that’s just what we’ll be doing with it in this challenge. You’ll find your skin feeling much firmer, lifted and clear after using. Activated charcoal removes impurities from our bodies whether internally or externally because by the magic of science, toxins stick to the surfaces of the those teeny tiny charcoal particles. Then when we flush the charcoal away, it takes the toxins and bad stuff with it.
French Green Clay
French Green Clay is a gentle clay that also is very powerful at removing toxins, oils and impurities because of its micro molecular composition. I love combining this clay with activated charcoal for a super effective skin clearing and anti-aging mask. It also stimulates the skin and increases circulation and cellular reproduction.
Ground Psyllium Husks/ Oat Bran
Both ground psyllium husks and oat bran are gentle natural exfoliators perfect for facial scrubs.
Witch Hazel (non-alcoholic) has strong antibacterial and astringent properties making it ideal for killing bacteria and reducing inflammation. I decided to add it to our eye-makeup recipe to not only remove makeup, but to also gently tone the skin around the eyes, which can easily become puffy and inflamed.

Frankincense oil has been used in skincare since ancient Egypt. It's known for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent qualities is great for reducing pore size, reducing acne and tightening skin. Known for being a high quality anti-aging essential oil.
Geranium Essential Oil
Geranium is one of my favorite essential oils not only for its great skincare benefits, but also because it's a beautiful scent that is relaxing and stress reducing. This particular oil has very high astringent quality, which makes it ideal for tightening and lifting skin. It's also known for reducing acne and dermatitis.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender is an amazing oil that is much like geranium; it's relaxing, sedative, can improve your mood, has a wonderful fragrance, and can heal cuts, burns and skin infections because of its antimicrobial properties. Lavender is also known for reducing age and sun spots.
