Creating Bedtime Beauty Rituals

I'm very much a person of habit.  I have my morning ritual where I have a lemon water, fruit sorbet, do my morning beauty routine, etc...personally, I don't feel right if I don't do all of it.  Of course it takes time and effort, but I always feel better when I'm able to do everything without being rushed. 

At night, I get home from work and usually immediately start working on my blog for an hour or two.  By the time that is over, it's time for dinner and it's already 9pm!  So I've decided to really take some time to relax and pamper myself a little bedtime beauty routine.  It helps with sleep, releases stress and overall makes me a happier person.  My goal is overall wellness, but these new rituals have beauty benefits as well.  I believe that if you take care of yourself in a healthy way, then your natural beauty will shine.

How I Created Bedtime Beauty Rituals

My first new ritual is doing a facial steam. It's hard to describe how relaxing this is and how great I feel afterwards.  You just have to try yourself, it's like magic.  For a bedtime steam, I like chamomile because it's very, very calming which is what I need after a hard days work.  I'm sure many of you can relate.

My second new ritual is a bedtime tea.   I wanted something soothing without caffeine, so I decided on ginger and honey.  I use raw ginger steeped in hot water and add a small teaspoon of raw honey.  The ginger has many, many benefits including cleansing your body of toxins, aiding digestion and opening up your respiratory system. 

Lastly, I've been using an eye mask as I sleep the last four months. I was having a lot of trouble getting into a deep sleep because we have a half moon window in our room with no blinds.  I finally gave in and got an eye mask from the All Natural Sleep shop on Etsy.  It has made such a difference in my sleep and now it's hard to sleep without it.  I wake up much more refreshed in the morning ready for my morning routine.
